More often than not many of us just can’t begin to understand how that guy or girl in the gym performs so well. Day after day they just get stronger and stronger and you just look at them and wonder where they get all this stamina from. If this hits you hard then keep on reading.
Stamina means a physical and mental ability of a person to perform a rigorous activity for a prolonged period. While endurance means the maximum time physical activity can be performed. Okay now you know the meaning but how to increase it you may ask. Don’t worry I got you covered. So here’s how you can increase your stamina.
- Caffeine
Who said caffeine is bad for you if used correctly it can be beneficial. Caffeine gives you that energy boost to exercise for a long period of time. Take a few shots of coffee before hitting the gym and see a difference for yourself. But the trick here is to limit your intake so that you don’t get tolerant to it meaning you will require more caffeine to give you that energy boost.
- Music
That upbeat music playing in the gyms lifts up your mood, gets you to be all enthusiastic and gives you that much-needed push. In recent studies, it was found out that listening to your favorite music helps to perform the task at hand for a prolonged period and increasing efficiency. It does so by increasing your cardiac efficiency and keeping your heart rate lower.
- Nutrition
Eat nutritious food. Protein-rich food gives it much-needed strength. Do not skip carbs as it gives you that energy to keep you going throughout the day. Low fat, high protein, and balanced carb is the secret sauce to increase your stamina.
- Sleep
I cannot stretch this enough how important sleep is for the functioning of your body. You do need that 8 hours of sleep so your body can function properly let alone the exercises. Sleep repairs your body overnight so that you can wake up the next day all refreshed and ready to start your day energetically.
- Hydration
Drink water at regular intervals. If you feel sluggish or dizzy during the day chances are you are dehydrated. So sip your water at regular intervals to prevent that sluggish and dizzy feeling. Your body gets dehydrated as you perspire so load up on water your body needs it so give it that.
- HIIT
HIIT stands for High-Intensity Interval Training. Including 15 minutes of HIIT in your regular intervals can help you increase your stamina. HIIT workouts are an excellent way to increase your stamina as they are high-intensity exercises that give you very little time to rest in between sets. Making them an excellent way to increase your stamina.
Thus if you want to increase your stamina and endurance make sure you include the above mentioned things in your routine. It will give you a much needed boost of stamina and endurance for you to kill it in the gym and finally help you be that guy.
